“(00:16) Hello everyone, my name is Mbali Zulu. I was born deaf, so my mom decided to take me to Vukela school for the deaf in Nquthu. That’s where I completed grade 10, then in 2009 I went to college, after college looked for a job without success.

(00:52) In 2018 I came to Durban because my husband told me about Edge Training and a learnership opportunity for a year. Then did practical’s with Vuka Ukhanye in different places, and that is when Edge Training absorbed me into their staff.

(01:37) While working as a cleaner in the office I acquired coffee making skills through an accredited Barista course and assisted in the kitchen.

(02:06) I want to thank everyone at edge Training for helping me with a job. I’m now doing another learnership which is IT-End User Computing.

(02:29 My future goal is to go to America, and for the world to have a deaf awareness week. I would like the world to support deaf people who don’t have parents with food, clothes, and school fees.”
